if it was new it wouldn't have any stars on the valve correct.
those where put on when the valve was sent in or the gun was sent in for service, right?
    yeah I think that's right...

Stars were on the valves from new. Drilled off when serviced. Automags got one? star, Minimags got 4 stars. The program ended 10? years ago.
I personally have never seen a valve with the stars drilled.

Now that you say that I've never seen one drilled either

Had a valve that the star was drilled. Dunno...may still have it.

Odd...the one in the add has 3 stars and doesn't look like any have been drilled.

When they started the star program, the 68 Automag valve had 3 stars, the Classic branded valve had 1 star, the Minimag 4 and Micromags 3 as well. When they drilled the stars, looked like a little drill point just enough to basically spot into the valve. At least thats what a few of mine looked like over the years. There are also pre-star valves before the star program.
