For anybody interested in this, I messaged the seller a couple times and the mag well is bolted to the rail, but he did cut in to the body to fit the mag well in place (and it looks like at least threaded the front end of the body a bit to fit the barrel shroud), making it a no-go for my interest level.

Funny I saw this thread at the top due to XMT; might have to hit you up to take another look at an old project idea.
