    Warning: "Jack00Carter" (on AIM)

    I posted in a thread, http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=90773 , expressing my interest in the gun. Was talked to on AIM by Jack00Carter with a message log as follows;

    Jack00Carter: u wana buy a gun
ForgedSpeed: Yes...you guy with bob long spyder?
    Jack00Carter: um yeah
Jack00Carter: are u gunna send the money
    Jack00Carter: throuhg paypal
ForgedSpeed: No, I would send money order
ForgedSpeed: I will have the money wed. (I sold a gun, shipped at same time, we both send packages priority today)
ForgedSpeed: What kind of mask comes with it?
Jack00Carter: cant u make a account throuhg paypal it kinda the only way i feel safe
    ForgedSpeed: No, I cannot
Jack00Carter: i have gotten ripped from cheaks
    ForgedSpeed: Its not a check
    ForgedSpeed: its a money order
    ForgedSpeed: entirely different
ForgedSpeed: you dont have to wait for a money order to clear
ForgedSpeed: and it cannot "bounce" like a check
Jack00Carter: well i would like paypal sir
Jack00Carter: its easyer for me and i can pay my bills on the net
Jack00Carter: im selling becasue of bills
Jack00Carter: and paypal is the only way i can pay them fast enough
ForgedSpeed: I CANNOT open a paypal account
    Jack00Carter: anyone can
ForgedSpeed: Not if you dont have a credit card or banking account
ForgedSpeed: Do you have any references? With a money order it will be at your house in 2 days from when I send it
    ForgedSpeed: ...hello
Previous message was not received by Jack00Carter because of error: User Jack00Carter is not available.

Obviously, he was trying to pose as the seller and rip me off. I really dont think this aproach would work on anyone with half a brain, but I though I would go ahead and post this just because. And yes, I know whoever is trying to do this will change their AIM name every 15 seconds. It would just suck for this guy to marr(sp?) a good sellers rep.

Just curious to see if someone else has had this happen to them?

Umm...he was posing as the person selling the gun. But he didnt own the gun. I have resumed talks concering purchasing the gun from the actual owner and seller.
