AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
that is a pretty exciting development. anyway, I just wanted to confirm my interest, and, if the price for this new body is in line with the last one I think I can commit to 2 of these.
all in all I think it'll be no problem preselling first 100.
can I put in a request at this time?
alright here goes - I'd like a large diamond to be embedded on the lefthand side just above where grips are.
Just kidding about the diamond... but it'll be cool if you could make this out of titanium...
kidding again!!
ok, can vert ASA be a little shorter? also, I'd like the following to be engraved: "#25. Oiled midget"

No Diamonds ( unless they are on my fingers) No Problem on engraving .Do you want Midget capitalzed?
Firstly, thanks for all of your help with this. I would like to know if they would accept the new RT style sears and rail pins as opposed to the older classic ones
Also.. I think people would need to see some sort of pics or cads before shelling out 'pre-order' money. Pre-ordering is like a four letter word around here.

This could be interesting. A new Micro body matched with a G-Force pneumag frame, just about in time for Christmas.

Sounds like a Christmas I would be after. I have a couple of thoughts and would like to be added to the list for one of these.
First preorder/ interest lists like this are not the greatest gauge of interest. Taking deposits does (so long as it is a significant amount of money say 50$ or more) commit people to a purchase.
I took preorders for logic frames got a better than average (about 50-60% followed through) interest to purchase ratio and still only made the minimum to get the things done. Unless you get a couple hundred people saying they want a micromag body I highly doubt you will get 100 that would make a deposit.
This leaves you with the option to either take what you get do the run anyway and stock the item. Just make it and start selling. Or bag it unless you get enough orders with deposits to justify a small run.
If I were making mag products I would not want to do another preorder. It is alot more work then just selling something and really is something I would only want to do for a one time product.
All that said I love the micromag format. I have one the the 10 special cocker threaded feedneck bodies and I can't wait to get it together as my main gun.
New feedneck, different style body/ detent and change it to the RT sear instead of the classic and I would definately be down for one of these. Heck I think I want one just to try it out but there are so many details that are unknown it is hard to know what will happen.
If I were in charge of this I would lose some sleep, get some definates on price and any details that can be released about the body (i.e. clamping feedneck, limited run of 150 must have 50$ deposit on 75 to get it started) and then I would start taking money.
I would make no promises on a timeline for these and I would have a non refundable policy on the deposits once the minimum is met and everyone has been given notice. Again the preorder deal is more work for about the same outcome (less risk is about the only upside) and if I were gonna make these I would decide whether or not I thought they would sell and them make them (or not) based on that info. A complete gun might be a better option than just making the body but again that is more work.
The interest in aftermarket bodies is fickle. Take Rouge's slug deal. He is stuck with I don't know how many slug bodies because I don't know how many people fell through on the deal. And yet here we are looking for the next aftermarket body.
Ok well don't know if that helps any. Just some opinions from a newbie dealer/ parts maker.

Quick question. Why would the RT sear be preferable for this? Wouldn't the increased height of the RT sear require a greater height of the body, making it less "micro"?

Personally as long as it comes with a sear pin I dont care which sear it has .
I cant tell by firing a marker which sear it has so who cares .
Why would that matter ?

It may be about the same as far as performance goes. I don't know that the RT sear is anything but thicker. I compared one to a classic sear and it is about the same (only the sear arm on the bottom was a smidge lower but that would not effect the size of the body). So I say the RT sear is a little better for long term wear and would therefore be my choice (unless it drove cost up significantly).
