AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
well thats not so bad, i was worried that it was going to be like 300+
im good with a soldering iron, id buy a kit if you offered them
The E-Mag board will be more,.. I can already tell. Im thinking that there is no way to get the price below the orignal cost. That is of course if all doesnt go well with the Universal Board sales.
Its larger in foot print size and it will use the buttons on the back to turn the board on and off as well as enabling or dissabling the ACE and Break Beam eyes.
I am also thinking it would be best to offer a new ACE board with the new board as well.
Reason being:
If you dont use an ACE board because you have an E-Mag,.. you can afford to pay for just the main board.
If you do use an ACE board because you have an X-Mag, your E-Mag lowers were milled for an ACE, or you just want break beam eyes,.... the new upper board will support the ACE and break beam eye systems.
I think I will be using the existing ACE port as well as an updated one to keep the electronics current with todays standards. Not clear yet as to the layout though.
Oh,.. and the new E-Mag boards are already being cut for proto-type testing
The chip I chose to use is the one commonly found on the DM style boards that is removable.
The chip wont be a removable option for the end user per say..... but it can be easily de-soldered and replaced with another of your liking (SD, Hater, Lucky, Predator, etc) or to change the code to your liking.
Buuuuuuut,.. if that occurs,.... all warranties are voided.
The board was designed as OEM for the "tinkerer" that doesnt want or need factory support.
I think once you see what the code I am offering can do,... you wont want to bother with anything else.

Thats fine, just I didn't want to spend 200$ on a new fancy Emag board and have to spend another 50-60$ (or what ever it costs) to get say Xmode added.
Its hard to say what we need to deliver at this point.
The BEST way for me as far as time and budget,.. would be to make a new ACE board that is not compatible with the stock AGD board.
I say that because it cuts down on parts and trouble shooting. Not to mention extra parts.
There also is a replacement being offered by someone on here already that is an exact copy of the stock board,. and its proven to work.
So most of my efforts are being turned toward the new ACE being a better version for the new replacement main boards.

Your Ace board for your main boards is exactly what I'm interested in.
If you're referring to Chris Nearchos for the stock ACE replacements, is he still making them? I thought he had legal troubles and is now concentrating on tying up loose ends with his customers.

Yeah,.. dont buy from him.
I was refering to the ones that Papa_Smurf was selling.
From what I gather, he got the same company that produced the stock ones to make new ones again.
I have not seen any complaints from people buying them and using them. I have seen many complaints from people buying and using Chris's replacement board.

Oh! I didn't know Papa was still selling them...very good to know! Thank you, sir!

What my original idea was to do:
Make the ACE board in 2 different variations.
One being the same board in every way but able to work with the new main board and nothing else.
The other variation was to make the board same as the stock one in function but add in ports for an upgraded eye system and delete the POTS and power switch. The main board will power the gun on and the software will adjust the eye system.
