Polishing Markers, any and all Markers.

    OK,
    I've offered to polish some Mags for people and gotten to thinking;
    hey why not branch out!

Why not Polish other Markers/Guns; Any and All Other guns.
If people want it done why not.

so if you have a gun you want polished, shoot me a PM and lets talk.

Polishing metal is mostly what i used to do back in the day, so hey it's what I'm good at.

Brass, Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium I've polished it all!
(including some I can't tell you about.)

    If you need an estimate,
make sure you have RECENT pictures of all the parts you want polished
(disassembled but all together in the same picture on a plain so I can see how big the job is)
and Email me at my new email address: [email protected]

my minimum charge is $25.00USD + Actual Shipping.

I have an address in Niagara Falls NY. so the shipping and border issues are non-issues.

here is a transplanted post from our MCB bretheren...

I can't find the 'before' pictures, but will update if I do find them.

    Here are some 'after' pictures.

The polishing is very well done, there is no area that was missed, even the seams around the feedneck and the welded on bodyscrew mounting point are incredibly shiny, LK-13 even went so far as to polish the bores!

The completely polished bodies are incredible. They look better than a very nice chrome piece. Really the only thing that I can complain about is that it is almost impossible to take a picture of them due to the reflections .

I'd highly recommend LK-13 if you need any item polished!

Would a clear coat, or a clear anno over the polished alum. hurt anything? How dull would it look do you think? I'd be interested if this were a possible. I like how easy it is to take care of my mag, and I love your polish work, but I'm not sure I can have both.

Aluminum is the only metal that has an immediate reaction to oxygen. The oxidization creates a film over the entire surface, thus 'sealing' it. The polish given to the metal will hold forever as long as it is not rubbed with anything other that a very soft cloth.
Clear coating, laquering, and spray coating is meaningless for aluminum, and would only make the finish worse.

Nice work LK-13, keep it up.

A thin ano will dull the finish, but I would recommend it as raw aluminum is prone to scratching and makes your hands black after extensive handling.

for Aluminum and Brass parts that can really show up surface oxidation marks created by the acids in finger print oils,
i coat every aluminum part is 4 coats of good old Turtle Wax.
this keeps the oils and acids away from the metal and prolongs the shine.
after a game, just clean you gun as normal and finish with a fresh coat of Turtle Wax and your shine will last indefinitely.

i have brass parts i made in high school machine shop class that i polished in 1982,
                  and they still shine!
so it's just how you treat the metal, do it right the first time and take care of your stuff,
you wont have to do it again for a very very long time.

                      absolutely correct.
with the minor exception of the marks that the oils and acids of your fingers and PAINTBALLS can leave on the surface of your gun.
these can damage the finish if not cleaned off in a timely manor leaving your finish looking
                      irregular or uneven.

no matter if I polish your gun or you just bought a brand new anodized beauty
i recommend a few coats of Turtle Wax to give your guns finish that extra layer of protection that will extend the time you take between full cleanings.
(we have all left gear sitting in the bag longer than we would normally want to)
and updating the Wax job with each major cleaning is a very good idea.
don't wax the insides of anything.
there are much better polishes for the internals and the bores of barrels,
Brass barrels in-particular need different treatment to keep the shine but still yield open brass.

if it already has a shine, wax it.

i can't estimate anything with out a picture at the very least.

can't tell you anything with out see what we are talking about...

this goes for everyone wanting a quote, i can't tell you anything with out seeing the parts in addition to you telling me all about them.
