Limiting comments to buyers only I think is a mistake, that line of thinking can become a very slippery slope.

Shirow mentioned that the Cheater thread worked well, i don't know the people behind that project but maybe this isn't their first rodeo. If this is PTP's first or second limited run project than i can understand the issues at hand. Contacting people that have done a limited run successfully can help shed a light on many situations.

It wouldn't hurt if PTP had a "Get it done guy/ I will find out ASAP guy" on the forum to answer or get the answers ASAP, that way Tracy could focus on her already busy schedule... he would be like a press secretary

Hind sight 20/20, build the working prototype first, than sell it. With paintball players being so moody and splurge spenders, it would be a risky project.

Well besides the grip panels and what not Zap was making, the cheater was his biggest project to date and no this isn't PTP's first time on the bull. They been dealing with this community for more years then some of the people on the forms have been alive (1993-94), that's why most of us don't mind the wait. We know they aren't going anywhere and the majority of us have dealt with them numerous times already.

I think what you said about companies getting a working prototype done before they go trying to sell it is a good idea and might be something we as a community should start requiring. Pictures and videos FTW. Magnus and Zap did the best job of it this year and both had been tinkering with their products for almost as long before they brought it out on the market.

So what Ando is saying PTP runs a bit behind but always delivers?

That means some peeps went into this deal knowing PTP's track record, and still some how they are surprised about the delays?

That's like being mad at a cup for being a cup. You knew it was a cup, and when it performed like a cup you were outraged that it acted like a cup... even though you knew before hand it was a cup?

And how bout those of us who have only dealt with PTP back when they did Cocker bodies in the late 90's when they actually had customer service?

A statement by one does not necessarially transfer over to the majority. Some people thought they knew PTP was a good company, some people knew they were excessively late, either way it was never brought up- and you can't hold anyone accountable except for the people who held that information.

With that said we are still on month 7 of a 3-6 week product run, whats that? 30 weeks?

Pep...There's no track record here. This is the first time that I can remember them being late on a project and in their defense. This is a whole new body style. They're starting from scratch on this one gentlemen and is why it's taking so long. I think Tracy just jumped the gun and forgot about all the R&D that was going to be involved in this project, let alone the other projects that unlucky for us fell in their laps.

                            Guys remember

They make these bodies run because we asked, the majority of their business are not from paintball. It would be unreasonable to expect them to go through protyping stage, invest in raw materials, and then find out that paintballer just bail out last minute. Just look at how many pieces ken usually sell because people back out.

I dealt with PTP in 2000 with the original warp feed. They were easy to contact, and delivered what they said they would, when they said they would. I did not see a disclaimer in any of PTP's posts when they were describing in detail how this process was going to go, that said they were actually lying about their delivery time and would be missing their advertised delivery time by possibly a year. There's no way I would do business with a company or individual if I knew ahead of time I couldn't believe the information they were telling me. I expected PTP to perform like PTP did in 2000. Obviously my expectations far exceeded reality in regards to the latest PTP. I thought I was dealing with an actual paintball business, and not just some individuals from an old paintball business that had a neat idea. If I paid for my slot in this pre order by sending Tracy a personal check and telling her to hold my check a year or so, would they have sat by patiently and waited for me to tell them when my check was ok to cash? Ofcourse not, that would be rediculous. So don't expect the customer to be patiently understanding when the money has been paid and the product has not been delivered. The only fault for the buyers of this product has been thinking that PTP's pre order would not be a disasterous ordeal like most of the other pre orders on AO, because of their past reputation.

As far as unhappy customers selling their slots? I requested to be contacted by one of the many buyers Tracy claimed to have on a waiting list, and have been contacted by none. I have advertised my spot on 3 different pb classified forums and have gotten no inquiries. If someone would like to send me my 100.00 deposit, I would be happy to sign my slot over to them and stay out of these conversations. I would also take a trade for a vert feed ULE body. But, until that happens, I'll keep watching this thread, waiting for an update, and throwing my 2 cents in whenever I feel like it, hoping one day someone will buy/trade for my spot, or PTP will let us know the project is ready.
