AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Dredging up the steel washer for the breech issue again. ive just finished my first case this last weekend and my breech has started to smash out. Nothing a file cant fix at this point but gun is down until fixed.
My question is someone selling these washers or are we left to come up with them independently?? I talked to a local machinist and due to there scheduling they said i would wait a week or so and it will cost a bit.

Wondering what the options are with this?
I just find this issue unlikely due to the weeks of "prototype testing" that were done in june/july/august '09 that was supposed to account for thousands of rounds through the marker with no issues. Any chance we can see pictures? We haven't seen any yet

In pictures 1, 2, and 4, that silver looking ring is where the metal is starting to crush. The actual anno is gone. Its now a rough area with the lip forming on the inside. Mind you the gun is still usable but not even a full case has gone through it yet.
in picture 3 you can see the lip, for some reason the lip is more at the bottom half of the breech. The top part is not as far worn.
Drix let me know if you need anything else? I'm largely after the washer, but locally it would be a bit more of an issue to get then if someone had a bunch made up. I like the body and would like to keep using it but as it stands i don't dare.
how many more problems are going to be swept under the rug what about us poor slobs that took one of these problem children from the original purchaser what legal rites do we have for any recourse with these white elephants if any one has any stainless repair washers for this body please let us know
Thanks Luke you can see what im trying to explain. Ando those pics are with a cell phone so there not the greatest but the problem is obvious. And again I'm just after a solution, one im willing to pay for. not asking PTP for a million dollars or a new gun or anything lol
And for Luke and the guys at PTP the metal is almost like when you hit annod aluminum with a hammer and it crushes a little and some of the anno will flake off. That's what the silver area looks like.
Luke were talking about 1700 rounds has gone through it too so we're in the early stages of the problem. trying to catch it early so i dont destroy the body here.
The original purchasers got the shaft to begin with. Some have been lucky enough to sell their package at a loss. Most FS threads are still unanswered.
I had a FS thread up before my body package was even delivered. Mainly because of my dealings with Tracy- hence my negative attitude. I really hope my buyer has not encountered any problems. It was sold before any of the negatives arose. Took a loss on it.
So couldn't we use a simple steel washer of the correct dimensions? I mean, this is something that could be whipped up in a garage with a 5/8ths or whatever washer with the center ground out isn't it?
It will all be held in with spring pressure, is it as simple as a flat washer that fits in the body and has the right sized hole in the middle???
Seems a REALLY easy to fix to me if you just need a piece to protect where the spring hits...
