I tried to ask questions about this earlier, and kept getting the run around. Its funny beemer accused me of trolling when I wanted answers before sending money for a cad drawing. Too bad he is not still here to help sort everything out. I hope you guys get everything figured out. -
People have had alot of mixed results, there have been people who've but cases through with no problems. I wonder why. Are you using a standard spring or a custom length (ex: is there a rough portion to the spring thats helpng to scratch up the body) Is there any way you can confirm your body is 7k grade aluminum?
I also know there is a difference in annodization processes and the hardness of the finished product, I wonder if differing anno types are different hardnesses. This is odd- all in all though I might leer awkwardly at RRF here because those prototypes were supposed to have thousands of rounds shot through them before production.Comment

it sounds like more of i just cant believe this but TAZ has sent proof it was said there was a long and extensive test period it was also brought up spring length what about the x valve with 3 spring lengths what about a classic or rt with a new spring how about the cheapskate that just stretches the spring when testing a new design or product the manufacturers duty is to make it stupid proof because there is always someone who tries to push the envelope not just make excuses of its your fault if spring length was or is an issue it should be stated in the paper work or stenciled on the piece i am sorry but it seems that someone has dropped the ball and not done their job so who gets the shaft but the end user someone should be held accountable and the repairs not pushed onto the user that is how i see itComment

Bought a ULE body ring and the OD is too small, wont work in the 2K9 MM.
I need to get a pair of calipers so I can measure:
-the diameter of the 2K9 Body
-the ID of the ULE Body Ring
-the thickness of the ULE Body Ring
That should give the ideal SS washer for the 2K9, if the OD is snug in the body there will be no need for the c-clip as the spring will hold it in place.68 Classic CF59529

Im using an x-valve with lv 10 and the standard short spring to clear up that setup.
As for washers i went to a local distributor and the sizes where such that i would have to fabricate them to work. nothing out of the box sort of speak would be close. Frankly I would it such that it fit snug and wasn't a risk of falling out. Something custom for this issue would be nice.Comment

My question is, why is the inner diameter of the 2K9 body not the same as a ULE body? Seems like it should have been machined with the same diameter.
In my mind the increased inner diameter of the 2K9 body might allow the spring to move around more where it contacts the body. Might be causing some of the wierd bolt stick issues that people are talking about.
I have only put about 500 balls through mine, so far, but it seems to be cycling fine. I'm going to pick up a caliper today at home depot and get some measurements.68 Classic CF59529

I checked mine last night and came up with breech id as a .690" and a body id of 1.000" but double check my work there and keep in mind my breech is a little messed up.Comment

Something to think of:
Adding anything like a washer to the inside of the body will change the preload tension of the spring. Could this affect the bolt??
It will also make the springs solid height be reached sooner and possibly not allow the bolt to move completely forward. Does the bolt need all the existing space to travel forward?

most often on springs color signifies different diameter of wire used to rap the spring length is obvious but with out a dial caliper or micrometer it is hard to tell with the naked eye the diameter spring steel is spring steel so length and diameter determine spring pressure the only other variable is does the spring have a finished end meaning if a coil is cut from a spring leaving s sharp or chisel edge rather than a flat platform to seat on it will wear faster than mushroom or peen a seating surface meaning a soft seating surface that is what i meant by proper testing a broken spring end will ware a surface rather than pound it over when testing you have to test all options both correct and incorrect usages that is why when they hydro they fill a 4500 psi bottle to 7500 psi to remove the stupid factorComment

Just a thought
Would it help to use a thicker OD spring, maintaining the same ID? If the spring has a larger surface area against the body then it should dispurse the pressure over a larger area. There is room inside the body for a thicker OD spring.Comment
