AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I agree... Well... After the remaining 4, er... 3 are gobbled up... Then I agree.
The issue with the Sydarm, was related to production costs. The entire valve required a different machining process. Different specs, all around (including the bolt & power piston). One of the biggest hurdles, was attaching the two main tubes together, without damaging the O-ring between them. How do you braze (sp?) two tubes of stainless together, without melting the O-ring??? When I talked to Tom about it a few years ago, it was an "economy of scale" issue... The production costs (at every step of manufacturing) were higher per unit AND it is a low volume product, so discontinuation made economic sense. Even if they go back into production, there would still be little or no margin on the product. From the AGD viewpoint, it would be a large effort for zero return. Sorry to say... I wish Dave would bring back the E-Tac, but they just don't have the resources to introduce (or reintroduce) a new product line again.
Anyway... I'll still blame Smart Parts for anything I don't like! Hell, it feels "right" when I blame them for warm beer!
Cheers
Sounds like a redesign is in order! Maybe someone just needs to design a device that screws into a centerfeed ULE body and is basically a 12gram loader on the back with a short QD to the valve and a 8-10 ball tube in front. Wish I had any of the tools to do a project like that myself. It might not be as clean as AGD's, but it wouldn't be terrifically expensive to produce as an add-on. Plus it could theoretically work on just about any gun with angel feednecks.
I just got my two Sydarms moments ago. They are amazing! The boxes were still stapled shut and once opend the shrink wrap was still intact. There is a receipt from velocity testing, warranty cards, lube, etc. Thanks Geoff for a great deal. Here are links for pics:

You opened the box? Now they are only worth $250.
One opened to use. One sealed for value. Thats why I bought 2. T shirts and koozies are especially nice. The white w/ red is my favorite. Thanks Geoff. PM me if you get anything else rare.
