No, the pneumatics are not necessary to run the MP90.
MP stands for Mechanical or Pneumatic.

So if i get the mp90 and the cp asa do i have to send it in for the mod?

The CP ASA will need to be machined, or you can go with the Sidekick-ASA, it's ready to go.
