Just wondering but how do you get 9.6v out of 7 1.2v NIMH batterys? I am wondering because the pack you have picutred appears to have 7 batterys and to achive 9.6v with NIMH batterys you will need 8 of them, unless you have found a higher voltage battery. But even then 7 1.3v batterys is 9.1v and 7 1.4v batterys is 9.8v.

I use the highest grade cells available. After the packs cool down from charging, I voltage test them and they average 9.6v.

since your pack is smaller, does it allow for alot of movement inside the battery compartment. i mean is it going to bounce around alot inside there?

No, the newer ones fit even better, but you just add a piece of foam or paper.
