Could you be a bit more specific about the differences between the two formulas? I use the blue on my E-Mag. Would I be better served with the other formula? I also have a Freestyle for which they say you should never use oil on (something about screwing up the solenoid). Thoughts?

Sure... the blue formula was originally made for mechanical markers so you could simply add a drop or two to the air inlet, gas up and fire away to coat the internals. Once gassed up, an extremely minimum amount, if any, oil should blow out the barrel.

The clear can be used in the same fashion on mechanical markers or used to coat internal orings and parts manually. For instance, you could dip your finger or a cotton swab into the clear formula and lubricate the internals of an electro gun manually so as to be careful not to get any on the electronics. The clear will then bond to the coated parts and not blow out the barrel as most oils do. It is recommended to clean the internals with rubbing alcohol prior to using the clear oil so the new oil has a clean surface to bond to.

Hope that helps... If you have any other questions please let me know...

So the clear is safe for solenoid guns then?

Yes... it's safe. Don't over lubicate the o-rings and you'll be fine. As I said, use your finger, a swab or the tip of the bottle to spread the oil. A little goes a long way....

                    The best oil, says I...

I've used this oil for two years in 2 e-mags and 1 RT ULE all with level X. This oil is very slick and biodegradeable. It doesn't deteriorate the soft internals like petroleum based oils.

TIP: If you're using this for the first time, wipe off as many internal parts as you can so the oil can take effect quicker. If not, you'll just have to shoot all the old oil out by continually adding this lube in the asa to replace the existing oil. You'll see the difference of the black by-product that the "other" oil leaves; this oil leaves no residue.

The blue oil (created for C02), from what I've heard, has a broader temperature range than the clear and works similar. I have only used the blue in both electro and mechanical. You'll see the difference of using this oil (once all the petroleum based oil is removed) your guns internals will last much longer. I might add, (can't give you scientific info) it reduces friction to the point where you will more-than-likely have to readjust your level X and possibly power tube spacers if you get leaks down the barrel. You may even have to replace o-rings that were once not (seemingly) worn. (less resistance = better efficiency)

I've never bought from this seller but thought some insight from an experienced user would be helpful. It is a great product none-the-less; worth the effort.

Sorry... not familiar with a Freesytle. If it's an electro I would go with the HMP... if it's a mechanical like a Mag or Cocker then go with the blue. Hope that helps...
