when was the tank manufactured? they only have a 15 year lifespan, so you need to list this date before any estimate can be made.

I just had 2 tanks done 25$ a piece ( guy was super nice , only charged me for one ) , it can be hydroed as long as the date is within a the lifespan ; if a tank was made in 12 of 1999 and had a 15 years lifespan , you could have it done this month and get 5 more out of it , ALL depends on the DOT# on the tank

that is incorrect, if it was made 12 99 the tank would be dead and (technically) not legal to use. 15 years life past the date of manufacture...having it tested does not add to that number.

i dunno, does the regulator work? no leaks, no weird pressure spikes / creep? older tank regulators usually weren't user-serviceable, so if it's bad it would have to be replaced. if you can't fill it to test, i would just sell as-is. probably won't get much for it in any case.

Its all about the cost. If the tank is within the 15 year lifespan(it should, the 70ci tanks are newer within the last 8 years or so), then its only going to cost ~$25 for the rehydro. But if it only has a few years left, then look at the price for comparable tanks & the cost of buying a new tank.

Best case scenario the tank has 3 years life left on it. Post up the label on the tank and one of us should be able to tell you the born on date. It will have a month and year. If it was born on December of 2002, it will only be good until December or 2017. So best case scenario it only has 3 years of use left. Worst case, 2 years. Either way, as Cyco said, you won't get much at all for it. I would guess you would be lucky to get $25-30 tops.
