I've had a few classics before I'd never seen a center fire mag valve though. Also I haven't been able to find much information about them.

That was lasered for only one specific model of 'Mag - the stovepipe centerfed steel Minimag body by Diggers (yes, the dudes that made those amazing cleats). No real extra value in the valve but an uncut Diggers Minimag body on the other hand...
