    hmm its been a while

its been a while sence ive been on this thread wel recently i was on my computer and i was playing with my mouse i relized how sensitive the movement was so i bought a mouse from comp usa took it apart to see what gave it its sensitivity. so this is what i saw there like to sensors that im guessing pick up light cause theres a wheel almost setup like a spoked water wheel except the spokes are really close together like almost a fraction of a mm. so i was thinking if this could be rigged up in a trigger frame and a trigger i think it wold be absolutely the shortest pull.

this is what i have come up with so far

well not much at the moment except the mouse runs on 5v but i dont think that matters right now i will try to draw something up and post pics but if you take aprt your mouse you will see what i am talking about (cant be a laser mouse)

any help with the electronics would be nice im trying to contact a buddy of mine for help

I think Angles have triggers like that, the photosomething or other. But that is a good idea, you could hook up the back part of the wheel to the trigger, then fandangle the board and eye into the frame, figure out the type of pulses the light sensor gives off and see if it is compatable with what activates the solenoid.

Are you saying make a trigger tripped by optics or are you saying a trigger tripped with the optics like in a mouse, ie: the slotted wheel.

The first mentioned has already been done and the second, there would be no advantage.

If your thinking you can pull the trigger and it will fire a bunch of times, it will, but you can also use electronics for that.

If your thinking of having it tournament leagel, with a really light trigger pull, it wont be any lighter than using anything else to cover up the wheel.

Maybe I missed something, care to elaborate?
