Smaller Battery In Emag with ULT

I don't know if someone has already posted on this so... here it goes.

I was thinking most of the weight in my emag is because of the huge battery. From what I understand the huge battery is required because the noid requires the power.

My theory is that with the ULT mod installed the noid size could be decreased significantly becuase it wouldn't require as much force to pull the down the sear.

Since the noid would be smaller it would require less power so a lighter battery could be used.

    Would this work?
Would there be much of a BPS deacrease?
Could this be done useing an Emag board as is, or would it have to be modified to regulate the power differently?

    Thanx,
    Josh Booth

This has been discussed and is still being discussed, the ULT does not have the pressure needed to reset the marker and maked the emags shoot slower.

There would have to be a major redesign in the marker, and the ULT is only a tooth on the gear that is change.

actually, that's because everyone is talking about doing it with the current noid. With a smaller noid, it would be a lot easier.

        Response

There is no reason why it couldn't reset the marker.
If it can be done on an rtp it can be done on my emag, it's the same valve. With the smaller noid there would be less resistance against resting the sear than with the larger noid.

As far as loosing preformance, how much would I really loose and would it even matter. My Emag has a max SPS of 16. The valve can cycle at around 37 CPS. Would it really decrease the recharge rate so much that it would even come near the set value of 16?

Does anyone know if the board would have to be modified?

          Board?

Can Anyone tell me if the board would have to modified to take the smaller battery and noid?

            same valve, different sear.

            ULT in the EMAG
TK said it would not work. I believe he tried. I was also told the purpose of the ULT was to eliminate bounce in the emags (tourney legal issue) but it failed for that, so I guess it is being used for lighter trigger pulls now.

            Smaller noid
The Noid does not induce resistance (well there is a little, but not enough to cause problems) There is a problem with leverage in the sear assy in regards to the ULT in its current state. At least that is what it looks/ sounds like from posts here. I have never even seen an ULT on/off assy yet so I cant speculate on the engineering of the functionality of it.

            Differrent board
No, the current board will run a smaller noid and battery

Here is the thread I started in regards to the ULT and the eMag:

Named after the IBM super computer, Deep Blue is headed by Tom Kaye, president of AGD. This forum is open to the public, but only high end technical subjects are allowed. If your posts don't cut the mustard they will be moved.
