              similar to the above link, we rigged a sound activated trigger to a flash and adjusted the markers location until we could image the paintball near the mask

              A digital camera was instrumental in being able to instantly judge the timing

              what were we testing?

              well the JT thermal lens developed some serious cracks

              pretty much we were having fun

              and trying to figure out how to get the killer shot

                But, what kind of camera and flash (realising they are seperate) were you using? I thought a normal flash usually has too long of an exposure time to really stop the motion.

                  we had a powerpack hooked up to a studio flash in an umbrella

                  i think we were running the Nikon D1X that day
