    Is this safe?

    hey guys,
i need to test the output psi on my screw in PMI nitro tank. I think it may be over 850, because it blew out my macroline fitting for no apparent reason. plus, if it's any higher than 850 i shouldn't really used it straight into my sidewinder, because the reg seat can lift.

i just wanted to ask if this setup is safe for testing output psi:
an old school tippmann 98c angled bottomline that comes stock on the gun, but instead of a hose coming out of the single port that is on the ASA, i put a 0-5000 psi guage on there from my apocalypse tank. is it safe to screw the tank into the ASA, and then check the guage to make sure it's not over 1000 psi? i don't want to blow my hands off or anything, so i figured i'd ask before i went and filled the tank.

sure its safe like that. I wouldnt point it ay my face too long though. Also, get a bigger gauge...they are more accurate.

hehe, for unscrewing i'm just going to put a wrench on the ASA and have some unsuspecting person hold it, and i'm going to unscrew for my life.

          gauge size

the size of the gauge has nothing to do with it's accuracy.

hey i tested it. it worked fine. tanks is outputting at 1,000 PSI, and i tested that with 2 different guages on 2 different setups. both read 1000 psi. i need to get that fixed =\

Good that you got some readings to see that your reg was over the top but still the unit you are using is far from safe. Try this link (it is designed to do what you have put together) http://www.airamerica.com/guardian.htm

hehe thanks for that link, i knew about that. the point of this was to just quickly test it, i don't plan on using this on a regular basis, or probably ever again. i wanted to test it without spending money :)

                      thanks again
