New gun design idea

Shrink the AGD valve down till it is about the size of a magic marker. Swap out the bolt with a hammer. Now use the small valve as an air ram in a standard Angel, Timmy, Impulse etc... style gun. It would be mechanical because you could still use the AGD style trigger frame with a much smaller pivot assembly. You could probably get the trigger pull down to nothing because of the small size of the ram/valve. If anyone uses my idea I want a free gun.

Well.... that's a damned good idea. That would allow you to (by adjusting the "velocity" of the mag...) adjust dwell.

This idea would work.

it's better than my pendulum ideas for timing a 3 way on a gun like this ;-)

so it would be put into a body of another gun like a two stacked tube type body? because where would the bolt go in a mag.....yea i no i probly sound dumb and i think i just answered my own question if im wrong can u correct me id love 2 see 1 of these guns completed

IANAE (I am not an engineer), but wouldn't the smaller size of the valve/bolt result in a *MUCH* lower force when fired at the same pressure? I think you'd need a stronger material in order to maintain the same fps. Smaller container=higher pressure necessary to achieve same amount of force on the ball. Depending on the size, you might need to up the pressure significantly...and depending on how high, you might run into issues of connecting air supply to valve. And then there's the entire issue of efficiency as well... I'm sure Tom can explain more on it, but I doubt it would work.

I think you got the wrong idea...
As far as I understand it, this is how it works:
a small "mag-valve" controls a ram, which opens a valve to the main-pressure. Think blowback, but instead of a spring and striker, theres a mag-valve that opens the main valve. Te pressure required in the mag-valve would probably only be ~100 psi. The trigger pull would be minimal, something like an electro. I love this idea, if I had the ability, I would try it =)

you could always make it an electro trigger quite simply.....(think hyperframe..)

Wouldnt that spoil the whole idea? If you want an electro with this function, its easier to just use a soleonid and ram, like an impulse or angel

The idea is to make is simpler and more efficent, not more complicated and less efficent.

hurm, i think this is wild...all mechanical timmy...it would have to move a buttload of air lots of math would be needed to figure our dump chamber size and pressire....but it could be made uber small and super light trigger....limmitations would be in the on/off....how much smaller can you make it than the ULT?
