    rounder balls=better accuracy

well in another thread, i saw that balls aren't exactly round and the two highest part of the ball only touch the sides.

With this being true is there a way to make rounder gelatin shells?
is there a different type of shell we coudl use without pain facting and break factor comign too much into play?
I knew not what I did but am now edumacated

It would never happen but what we really ought to do is switch to drum feeds and pill shaped paintballs with rifled barrels.

with that theory it woudl cost a ton of money to change over, with my idea it wouldn't cost that much, the paint prices might go up for both our ideas too

Last time I checked what causes the odd shape of the balls is the seam. Nitro Duck I think is the company that came out with seamless paint which would give you the best shape because the ball wouod the be as perfect as the mold. Also a big time flight issue arises with liquid core paint due to the fact it shift and then favors on side while it is spinning. WGP I think again came up with gel paint. Same as before except the shift doesn't occur to the degree liquid paint does. If for some strange reason I am wrong let me know.

Tom tested round plastic balls without a seam. They weren't any more accurate. The problem is the shape, round. A sphere is a blunt object, it's NOT aerodynamic.

as a paintball flys it take a slight teardrop shape, but not enough to effect accuaracy at that point.

if you mind paint more elastic it would be more aerodynamic after about 10 ft of flight.

And would only break at 10 foot range. People want BRITTLE paint. Imagine adding elasticity.

when it streached it would bcome thin and brittle. so it would break untill its like unreasonable shot length

A while ago I seem to recall RP Scherer's Premium paint had a new starch-based shell. It seemed to have a less extreme seam on it and seemed to shoot better than the regular PMI paintballs at the local place.

Actually they do not. Look at the high speed video Tom took of paintballs in flight.
