    crackpot gun idea

What is the purpose of the ball moving forward? the answer is: so that all of the gas power is focused on the ball and to help eliminate blowback. Now every gun has a bolt that moves forward, well that I know of. My new idea for a gun is to have a stationary bolt. inbetween the feed and the place where the paint falls into the gun tube there could be a sliding piece of metal, or plastic, that slides forward after the ball drops into the breech, covering the hole. Doing this would allow all of the gas's power to push the ball, and at the same time eliminating blowback. Then the question poses it's self, how would you open up an air way so that the gas can flow through the stationary bolt? I was thinking that there would be a kind of on/off action going on. But on top of the on/off, which would be moving up, there is a spring, that as soon as the on/off opens the air ways it gets pushed back down by the spring. The trigger mechanism would push up on a rod that push's the on/off up, and when the on/off get's pushed down it would push the trigger out. The trigger would also slide back the sliding thing on the top of the stationary bolt, which is spring loaded to close. The "cocking rod" would catch an overhang on the slider, and pull it back, until it slopes down enough to let go of the overhang, making the slider move forward, and covering the bolt.

this design would increase the rates of fire because all that is moving is a very light slider, and a on/off. It would also eliminate blow back, while at the same time break less balls.

Now as I said before this is a crackpot idea, so please regard it as such.

if this is a good idea than AGD PATENT THIS BEFORE SMART PART'S SPY's DO.

    thank you

So, are you saying that instead of having the bolt moveinside the marker, having a part of the marker move around the bolt?

this sounds a little like the epic marker, only the epic doesnt have a bolt. it has a "trap door" that moves to let a ball drop in.

only a little bit, maybe a 1" by 1". It would just seperate the breech from the feed tube.

and when I refer the the stationary bolt it just means part of the gun. I used that name for it so that you could vision it better.

i cant honestly say i "know" that they work well, cus i havnt personally shot any of them, but i have heard good things about the epic. considering the air star nova is very rare these days, i dont think they were very popular=they didnt work all that great. i think the air star nova is more of a novalty marker. they r cool 2 shoot, but it would be pointless 2 own one.

                  Browning Auto-5

You know, the moving barrel concept has been done in firearms. I collect vintage weapons, and my personal favorite is a Browning Auto-5 shotgun from 1950. Without going in to detail of its operation, the barrel is independent of the reciever. To charge the weapon, you only need to pull back the bolt, but when the weapon fires, the barrel pushess the bolt back, and cocks the hammer. In other words, you could load the magazine, put the butt on the ground, and push down on the barrel to load a shell (not the safest way, but possible).

This could be achieved if you wanted to have an integral bolt/barrel. You could have a positive feed from the side (i.e. warp). This would ensure that your barrel does not close down on the paint. Also, you may be able to incorporate current LvL10 technology in this design.

I don't know, but it looks too small to have a bolt. Those guns are sweet, I want one so bad.

how about a rotational chamber to seal the breech for each cycle? could have 2 holes in the chamber to reduce the required movement per cycle, just rotate 90, ball drops in, rotate 90, its sealed, fire, rotate 90, ball falls in, etc...

eh, there's a pure mechanical way, a pneumatic way, an electronic way, and of course, all the hybrid methods in between those.
