    Dustball?

How about replacing the paint fill with a chalk like substance that doesn't behave like a fluid. If one could be devised that would still break on a person without causing any more pain than a paintball, you could start using rifled barrels. I hope I didn't miss a thread about this already, but it seems like a good idea, perhaps worth discussing more than once.

uhm havent seen a thread bout it i suppose it could be done although if the solid/liquid fill is better may be debatable ex with better paints and better guns and note sure if rifling or whatnot would even have an effect on something with the mass of a paintball

Some paintballs dry and are like chalk. After a game this one day I tried to clean off this paintball and it felt like chalk.

forggot to mention that the mace balls that police use are chalk like and are shot out of tippmans and they seem to shoot fine enough for law enforcement

but think of this... your playing on a hyperball field going through the snake and two back men are on you dumping everything they have got on your bunker. Pretty soon I bet there would a (insert favorite paint color) dust storm. Maybe a choking hazard also?

Solution: cookie dough filled paintballs, crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside

And anyway America isn't fat enough :o

how about some kind of material that liquidates when it gets pressure applied to it, but is solid when left alone? That way, solid in the air, but liquid on impact.

meh, too complicated if you ask me. :) Im sure there is a possibility of having a small package of fluid or an inner shell with fluid that is not in contact with the powder or other "solid" form. When exploded the two mix into a color paste. Still complicated though.

simple solution that has already been designed by AGD and another company. put fins on the paintball. how cool would that be to have an "over under" gun, the top firing regular paint and the bottom firing sniper rounds.

theres a nonlethal weapon out right now that uses this technology.

                            check it out.

Non-lethal, but still hurts a lot more and does more damage than a regular round. Plus that thing fires at a lot higher FPS than a regular marker, and it can't shoot at nearly close to the same BPS as today's markers.
