    Stock class mag

well i had the idea of a stock class mag. pretty much like a beefed out phantom i guess.

it would be a basic mag with a pump kit,ule body/spring tube attached, single trigger, and 15* asa for forward or reverse mounting. after talking to some people about pumps(im not very knowlegeable in the area) wave springs are they way to go but they are $ prohibitive and apparerntly break easy. if anyone has any other ideas or maybe just do the project without the pump kit?

any info suggestions ideas etc would be helpfull. also if somone could do a rough photoshop or something that would be GREAT

Well, I think that possibly the reason why a pump has not been done on a mag is because it works different from basically every othre marker on the market.

Most blow-back guns have a pump vairant because after you fire, a spring (or gas in the case of an autococker) the bolt moves forward and gas (in every case) resets the trigger. As we all know, mags are blow forward, so gas pushes the bolt forward and a spring returns the bolt once the pressure has been released.

So, when you cock a pump, you do the work for the bolt. Most pumps are not very complex, so really, something like a lvlx kit would make no difference, because you would be doing the cocking, and people can be pretty hard on pump guns.

You would need to redesign the valve and the rails to accomodate the pumping mechanisms. On top of this, you may or may not want trigger reactivity. What you could do is have it so that when you cock the pumping arm backward, it could reset the trigger.

But then you could not really use an "auto-trigger" function (common on all pumps) where you can hold the trigger and then one you finish cocking, the gun automatically fires. So, you would need to bring back the clasic (or non RT) valve. This, and you would have to incorporate new methods to help prevent double cocking and such (probably would be part of the rail system).

Anyway, feel free to correct any mistakes I have made. I like the idea just think it might take too much re-designing of the current systems to implement. Then again, redefining the industry is kinda what AGD does best...
If I am wrong in my thinking, please let me know. If you think I am wrong and are too lazy to say why, don't waste anyones time by posting.

There are pump kits for mags. Very rare in this day & age. some of the older body mags have the pump slot in them. They havent made any in years due to a lack of interest in the pump side of the sport.

I used to run my Retro valved Mini w/ an AGD pump kit. It was a lot of fun. Though it did not have an auto-trigger, the ultra short pump stroke combined w/ the reactive trigger msade it sing. Used it in a game in the pump division @ SkyBall many years ago. i held the back stand up until time expired even after the rest of my team had been eliminated. The other team couldn't get close.

I know a guy with one, he uses a 10 round feed tube from Action Markers because it screws right in. (Angel feed threads) The only thing is he only gets about 15 good shots on a 12g.

A guy at scp has one. Aquiring the pump kit will be the hardest part. he used a slug body. you can just screw in the AM stock tube or you can drill and tap for a CCI breach. I would prefer the cci breach for the clear plastic. He had a classic valve and bolt, I think those are both required for the pump kit. He told me at shatnerball that he got 20 shots per 12g.
