Prolong the life of your paint!

We all know to store in a cool dry place.. But sometimes dry isn't possible. Basements are a perfect place becuase they are generally cool. But dry? no way. I had a mold problem in my basement before I got a dehumidifier.

I give you the magic of silica gel. The little things you find in beef jerkey and in your shoes (do not eat).

When paintballs come off the assembly line, they were big rubbery baloons at one point...

You know how they swell up with rain and moisture on a hot day...

So why doesn't paintball manufacturing companies throw a .05 cent silica gel packet in each bag? Maybe becuase some people will drop the packet in their loader too?

But honestly.. how many of you have ever had paint in your room for a long time, and even though you rotate them often, they still get squishy? Happens to me a lot.

    But yeah.. silica gel...

i guess u can always throw a few in

i will be getting a vaccum sealer to use with frozen bait, and when i do, ill run a little experiment to see how it works with paint

Not that new of an idea Core paintballs already come with a packet of silica gel in each bag. But they arent like the tiny beef jerky ones they are like 3 inches long 2 inches wide so you would notice them flopping into your hopper.

Paintballs will get very brittle if they dry out too much. Too dry is a big problem also.

            Hmm. A paintball humidor.

If you're keeping paint that long, you're not trying ahrd enough.

Just use all open bags, or seal them up again as soon as possible. There's little else you can do. Even perfectly kept, the liquid inside affects the shell.

Paintballs are a consumable with a finite shelf life. use-em up!

Well yeah, but say you buy two cases during a day of paintball and you only shoot through 1 1/2 cases. Then you open one of the bags to dub around on the last game, and you're left with almost two leftover bags of paintballs. The one's that's open will probably be in better condition if you put a silica packet in there, it would stop the buildup of moisture that you see in opened paint.

Just put it in a ziplock bag or a tight sealing container. No need to do any more.

Too dry is as bad as too wet.

yes i wiould like to know about the airlock sealed bags or iff it would be too much pressure for them and no some people are blunt enough to not notice a 2' x3' piece of silica package in their hopper. last year some time i let someone use my backup A5 and they managed to load some packing peanuts into the cyclone feed? some people are just too funny

I had close to a case of pro ball in my walk in closet for over a year (got buried under clothes and junk) forgot it was in there until moving day I picked out all the dimpled ones and shot em in my e mag no problems what so ever. The bags were not sealed and were still in the box that was somewhat crushed by mounds of clothes shoes etc. Maybe Im just lucky but that was the longest I ever stored paint.

just put the paint in a cooler, works as a temperature dampener and most are nearly air tight you'll notice if you ever tried to open one, just through a few paper towels in the bottom to soak any condensation if there is any, not likely unless you seal it in summer wheather then go into your Airconditioned super cooled house, in which case just open the cooler for 30 or so seconds when you get home to cycle the air out
