Different way to activate 3way for shorter pull

    Hey guys,
Ive been thinking about this for a little bit and after reading the arguments for a super mech and looking at those designs for one in the fourm I thought perhpapse of a better way but I would like to get your guys take on it. Instead of using air to active the 3way (which i believe is how those guys plan on doing it) I think that using just 3 metal rods would be alot easier and have less problems.
Now I am going to try to explaine this but I did do a little sketch on autocad (if anybody knows how to convert from autocad to a format everybody can read please pm me). I took my eclipse mech trigger and i figure that you drill a hole right behind the trigger but down near the bottom of it where it moves the most. Then you put a rod that touches the back of the trigger and goes inside the trigger frame. This rod is then connected to antoher rod that is more or less vertical within the trigger frame but is on a hinge. That hinge is very close to the connection of the rod that goes to the trigger. This is all to make the movement at the top of this vertical rod more than the movement of the trigger. Then at the top of this rod it would connect to another rod that goes into the 3way.
I'm shure I've confused all of you but what I am trying to accomplish is just a way to magnify the movement of the trigger without using air. Again if there is a way to convert from autocad drawings to a regular format that would be sweet, otherwise when I get back from classes I'll do a little sketch on paint or something. Thanks guys.

Not sure I follow what it is your trying to do but as for the autocad question,
use plot to convert your drawing to a .jpg file and upload the pic.

Here's a pic of it. It would be sweet if anybody had an autocad with the exact dimensions of a swing trigger then it would be alot easier to show.

The problem is the that amount of work remains the same. A lever, a simple machine, can only output as much energy as is being put in. Lets say that the bottom contact point is 2mm away from the pivot point and the top contact point is 30mm away from the pivot point.

A force of say, one newton on the bottom point would apply a torque of 2n to the pivot point. Due to the distance, a force of only .06n would be applied to the top contact point.

Thus you would have a short and heavy trigger pull. Or you could reverse it and have a light and long trigger pull.

CrimsonTurkey- Ya I have thought of that problem but it really dosnt take much force at all to active the 3way. Now I know that a trigger like this could never be walkable but it would help you shoot a little faster.

SlartyBartFast- I really havent herd anything about them. Are they walkable? How much of a pull do they require?

I created a way to make cocker pull its own trigger it could go automatic or semi and all you would have to do is touch the trigger and it would actually push the trigger all the way back and then forward.. It was pritty weird wish I had the plans I drew. I can think them up agian basidcly it had a 3-way infront of the normal 3-way and a mini ram underneith the 3-ways. It was pritty cool.

Probably the best way to shorten the throw of a 3way valve is to pilot it.

But to pilot it, you need ANOTHER valve with a shorter throw.

Considering the flows and pressures required, there's no need to use a pilot valve.

Actually, the quick switch is an ingeniously designed valve that uses the air pressure to pilot the valve.
