Class III weapons dealers... any in northern ohio?

Unka Phils new toy has inspired me

I'm looking into picking up some toys in the near future (before the '08 elections), and was wondering if anyone has any experience in this sort of area. The nearest retailers I can find that sell class III stuff are in the cincinatti area, and I really am not looking for an 8 hour round trip several times throughout the paperwork process just to buy something.

Namely I'm looking into firearm supressors and then maybe an auto if funds allow it when janurary rolls around. I hear the ACC pilot supressors are very nice and I plan on one of those or a gemtech outlaw II. Then it get's sent off to gruntbull for digital camo
I figure before the next election I outta get the good stuff, cause all 3 primary candidates openly support gun control/bans.

Hehe, thats what im trying to get my dad to buy. Automatic weapons have like a 25% return a year so there a pretty good investment and from what I hear it takes like half a year to geet all done but well worth it. Have you tried shopping online? I know you just need to find an FFL Dealer in your area and let them do the transfer but dont quote me. Good luck and if anyone else has had experience with this please tell.

that's what I'm looking for... but only a class III dealer can FFL transfer a class III item. Ma and Pop's Gunroom ain't gonna cut the mustard. As far as investment return... you bet! But if the '86 weapons ban gets repealed expect alot of people to happy and pissed at the same time cause their old rifles won't be worth squat.

/there's a nice 40cal antiarmor howitzer for sale online for only $7000... Might get that if it comes with the jeep to haul it.

Yep... thats what you need is a Class III but...

Try looking around and asking around on Uzitalk.com or Subguns.com. They will know. And perhaps even can recommend one close to you.

At the time it was cleveland, but I'm back in Akron for the summer.
Clevland and Detroit usually trade off as poorest cities in us census. lol.

Tim... I just might have to do that in the spring. Problem is I'd have to show up to initiate all the paperwork, sign off on stuff, and then pick it up in person when I can take stuff home. 3 eight hour driving days is too much for my fragile psyche.

The post ban ARs are not select fire (semi only) and preban ARs are like $17,000.

Not all Preban AR's were select fire. In fact most of them were Semi Auto.

Your confusing your Bans. The ban (or better term would be restriction) on Full Auto (select fire) occurred in 1938 IIRC. The restriction requiring a form 9 for those goes way back. Back to the days of Gangster wars. Which, by the way, was and still is unconstitutional. It's just never been challenged.

Semi Auto versions of AR's were almost the norm, both pre-ban and post ban. The "Ban" referred to in this case is the "Assault Weapons ban" which had nothing to do with Semi Auto functionality. It had to do with Mag Capacity and features. Features like Bayonet lugs and Flash Hiders and mags of more than 10 rounds. What the drafters of this ban considered "evil features" and so targeted for restriction. Again, unconstitutional. And idiotic "feel good" legislation that resulted in nothing accomplished besides restricting law abiding citizens from having them in some misguided policy that all guns should have a "sporting purpose". And that someone can determine what is and what is not such a thing. Again, not consistent with the purpose of the constitution.

So a Post ban (at the time of the ban and while it was in effect) would have no bayonet lug nor any threaded barrel end to attach a flash hider and would have come with a 10 round magazine. Not so any more (except in a few states) as that Ban has expired. But it was nothing to do with FA or Semi Auto. Those restrictions go way back. And they are not Illegal completely. They just require an extensive special background check and permit to own. They would be illegal to make or own without that.

Joe, I know a guy in the Falls. I'm pretty sure he deals Class III's. His name is Mel Stewart. I'll look up his contact info for you. He may cut you a deal, too, if you tell him I sent you. I'll verify and get back to you about it.
