Kind of like "If you take life to seriously, you'll never get out alive!" - Van WilderOriginally posted by CKY_Alliancepeople need to quit taking life so seriously and relax
Anyways
Ha EMO kids. Some of you may take this seriously but if your going to listen to the music and slit your wrists. Do it the right way the first time. Thats a unemployment solution. Hey if my boss was EMO then I'd be for it, give me that 2 dollar/hr raise man. But everything aside if you can't hack it, then pack it and get the frick out.
The Mothers of America clans, yes I said clans. Your fight for "everything is right" is shear politics, and the last time I got drunk in a bar and talk about politics have been outlawed in general conversation with strangers (Because nobody wants to hear everyone's crazy and stupid theories) so shut your dirty clams. Anyways so you think (this latest group) your going to outlaw rock in this almighty crusade. Let me remind you of your failings with Marylin Manson, everyone knows how far that went (a long story short). Or the best I heard Ramnstein (SP?) "their lyrics sound evil thus must be evil" lol sick and crude yes but pure satanic not in my life time pal. Yes it is freedom of speech. If I was going to sing about angels looking down upon a beautiful world (in a hardish rock tone) I'd be banned, been listening to much Haste the Day, from states, cities, and concerts. Yeah okay thats like banning the Wall Street Journal from investment firms. But to the point it isn't going to happen, period.
Anywho what about them damn Brewers...................Go Brew. This space for rent.Comment

Sex Pistols got banned from a billion citiesOriginally posted by MuzikmanYou all say that, but it would not be hard to get these bands banned in different states. See, there is the whole free speech thing, but concerts don't fall under that. There have been many bands banned from different states from everything from drug possession, to peeing on the Alamo, to pulling their wang out on stage, to swearing too much in a public place. I am sure if they really wanted to, they can find something on just about every band out there, that could get them banned from different states.
Now, there would be no way to stop the sale of albums, just performing in public.Comment

Lamb of God, too. Something about killing a goat on stage during a concert in California. Wicked stuff.Originally posted by zipity_BopSex Pistols got banned from a billion citiesComment

good riddance to bad rubbish imho.Originally posted by zipity_Bopthat happening as we speak sales of rap music have dropped 30% since last year, which i tihnk is great because half of the rap put out today is horrible...
the kind of reform I speak of regards the business model of artistic audio as a whole. As its been referred to "the cult of the amateur" the concept of man-portable music recordings is no longer out of reach of the average consumer(nor has it been since the advent of the cassette tape recorder). Since the music industry can no longer provide us a medium that we cannot provide for ourselves, and feel that they do not have to improve their product over time, it seems only natural that we will continue to "do it better for ourselves" and rightfully crash the modern music industry under the strain it caused on itself by resting on its laurels.
