Whatever happened to terminal velocity?
I can understand the extremely high speeds at high altitudes due to the thinness of the atmosphere...but at those altitudes the speed of sound is also very high. Something like 660 mph.
Am I missing something?
Oh well, the world can use one less Frenchman.Comment

due to the thin atmosphere, there isn't enough air resistance to slow the person down. as the air gets thicker, terminal velocity gets slower.

I wonder if his suit will have any structure built into it at the shoulders/neck to help him withstand the air pressure at those speeds. I remember reading a few back that certain softer metals will melt at Mach 1 and he will be doing an estimated 400 mph faster. He better have an automatic chute opener.Comment
