You really need to start over on that before someone gets hurt.

Those 2x4's you just put on don't have anything underneath supporting them.

You need to have 2x4 studs going from your bottom plate to your top plate (both of which seem to be nonexistent) and attach sheathing, either osb or plywood, to the edges, making a nice strong square wall with lots of shear strength. Just make the tall wall 8', use the whole sheet. Use a panel saw, table saw, or at least a skill saw to cut the sheets of wood, not a fricking hand saw.
2x4 studs need to be on 16" centers. Once you have a wall, make three more of them, then attach at the corners and run another top plate on top of the first top plate, overlapping the corners to make a good connection. This is assuming you have a concrete pad or piers and redwood or pressure treated wood to deter termites for your bottom plate.
Assuming you followed all that, you're now back to where you can start running 2x4 (or 2x6) across to make the roof.

Don't forget to check your local building department for code requirements and get it inspected.

Heck, just demolish it and buy a plastic shed at home depot. You'll save yourself about $1000 in time and money.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

If you have more 2X4's just double up on the wall studs so they support your 'rafters' that you have in there. I would certainly double up the ones around the corner posts anyway.

You can still salvage what you have and have a decent shed.

          mmm... did she?

Don't forget that you need it to be waterproof so it doesn't rot. You've got to paint it and install a roof. More than just a piece of plywood on top, You'll need shingles, or more likely with a more flat grade, tar and gravel.

And even though you're not living in it, you still need to get it inspected by the city. Structures need to follow specific building codes to ensure they're safe. So far, your mom's friends haven't followed any that I can see.

Built all wrong. You really really need to add the top plate to the wall studs and lay the rafters across from there. Now if you are local to MD or anywhere in here, I can propose a better option as I have a couple truss laying around here at my lumber yard.

some people take pride in their work and don't want other people to see their shed and say "hey that guy does half assed work"

would you want that shed in your backyard?

Until you are getting something out of a shed with a bunch of snow on the roof and it collapses on you, that might actually hurt a little bit.
