Google is failing me on this, can't get any info on exactly what I need...

Ok. So we got a wireless internet here.. my brother set up security like a year ago. So I'm trying to use a wireless booster to get access where I normally can't. Got access with the same setup, minus security, a couple years ago.

Does this security block out the booster from giving internet out? If so how do I go about fixing the problem?

the booster is mostly just the software thats on the actual router...

Also, find out how your Brother has the wireless security setup..

It could be either WPA or WEP...

One is a password thats been pre determined, or just random numbers and letters...

Simple solution for you to do would be reset the wireless devices to factory defaults and set up the security yourself again.

Before you do anything, go online and print out the manuals for the devices you have and maybe even the FAQ that goes over "resetting my router" and "how to setup security".
