    Sad Day for Nerds

Looks Like Robert Jordan, the author of the Wheel of Time Series died on Sept. 16 2007 before finishing the Final Novel in the Wheel of Time Series. Apparently though he had his notes for the book completed so someone will probably complete it.

Yup, some of my friends created a facebook group about it yesterday. I found out through them. The Wheel of Time is my favorite series. I'm so bummed that he didn't make it. RIP.

Sorry to hear that he died. He was a great writer. BUT THAT SUCKS. I started that series when the first book came out and my only complaint was that he wrote too slow. And, I just stopped by B&N to see if the next book was out yet. I really do hope that somebody finishes up the series, I have dedicated a big chunk of time to that story and really wanted to finish it out.

On a side note, if you you liked R. Jordan, then you might want to look up Terry Goodkind, he is writing a series called the Sword of Truth. Very similar to Jordan's style.
WOW, sigs. Havent seen these in a while here on AO.

I used to read his books but got bored after the 5th book (or somewhere in there).
I found that some aspects were getting to be a bit tasteless and detracted from the story. It just didn't fit the flow.

A series that I have been reading lately is by George R. R. Martin, "A Song of Ice and Fire" (or maybe it's the other way around)
"A Game of Thrones" is the first book. Excellent story although sometimes difficult to keep track of all the characters involved.

LOTS of plot twists! It's supposed to only be 7 books long but we'll have to wait and see. The fourth book was released last year.

Yeah I think TOR, Jordan's Publisher made him stretch out the series. He originally only wanted to make a Trilogy. I think R. A Salvatore does it best.. Write a Trilogy... Then Use the same Characters and write another.. then another... then a prequel.

And George R. R. Martin is the freaking man! His novels are awesome!

I guess I'm going to have to fall back on Jim Butcher, my next favorite author. He's the only author who has written two series' that I've liked. I never like other series' by the same authors, but I made an exception for The dresden files(btw, the show sucks) and the Codex Alera.
