Prayers and Well Wishes
Myself and all the other members of the Holy Cross NROTC battalion just received a very sobering email from our CO. 2ND LT R.P. Jones was killed in Iraq earlier this year in Iraq. He graduated from our cross town affiliate, the WPI Army ROTC unit, in 2005. To learn about someone dying in the line of duty who graduated from our affiliate unit just two years ago is hard hitting to say the least. It does not deter me from wanting to follow the career path I have chosen, but it is difficult to swallow nonetheless. I am by no means religious, but for those of you who are, please pray for this young man and his family. For those of us who don't believe, I would ask that we still wish him and his family well and keep him in our thoughts. If anyone is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, I believe tomorrow's memorial is open to you and I strongly suggest attending if you live nearby. It is at 1130 in Alden Memorial. I am not sure about Holy Cross or WSC alumni, but those of us from Holy Cross will most likely be finding rides over there. Again, please keep 2ND LT Jones in your hearts.
