The new laptop I am leaning towards

Since 1991, I have been stricktly into PC's, I have always steered away from laptops until earlier this year when I picked up a cheap one to get online with at the shop so my main design computer wouldnt be exposed to viruses. Now that I have taken my gaming rig from home to work to setup a second station for sign work, I am unable to play most of my favorite games. So I am looking into a new laptop. The one I am looking at is a barebones Sager NP9261 with a geforce 7950 SLI setup, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66 ghz cpu, and 2 gigs of ram. Just wondering what some of the laptop guru's would think of this? I know it blows my old gaming rig out of the water.

I had a Sager for a while. It's a branded Clevo. Solid construction, nice screens, good keyboard feel. One of the nice features is that the video cards are upgradeable on the high end models. Your battery life will be horrible. It's not something you'll carry around comfortably either. But I loved mine, the only reason I sold it was because I started having wrist issues due to the standard, and not ergo keyboard.

honestly, if a lappy isnt all that portable, why not just build a PC in a small case, get a wireless mouse and keyboard, and a 17in LCD. You'll save money (or spend the same amount, and get more performance)

A nice little LAN Box, 15inLCD, USB wireless keyboard/mouse - viola, portable super-lappy....

From what I have read, this laptop weights in at around 11.5 lbs (not sure what all its weighted with) and has a battery life of 1-1.5 hours. So this setup will still be lighter then my old emag and I will only be carrying it from my car to house/work instead of a game of paintball.

I have a lan box up stairs, however I honestly never did like the thing. It is to small, everything is to cramped inside, so you couldnt get a good flow of air and I had problems with it overheating. I also havnt seen a lan box to compare to his laptop. I will be using it alot for designing (and games) signs and graphics in Adobe Illustrator. I will have a work around for the battery life with some of my r/c tech. It wont take much at all to build a 10,000 + mah LiPo or LiMin battery pack to work with it and give me 2-3 hours of play time.

I havnt got cs3 yet, I did get the photoshop cs3 beta to play around with, but to be honest AI cs2 does everything I need for right now, so I have no reason to upgrade. My main use for AI is its live trace feature, which is my main reason for wanting a bigger laptop, half the images I want to trace, my poor laptop just cant do.

Warbreak, it will be pluged in most of the time, but its still nice to have the extra battery life when the electricity goes out. Besides, who doesnt like to tinker? Dont you own a spydermag instead of a hyperframe?

Teeheehee yes I doooo! Damnit you reminded me I have to go spend money on a VerC board and laser eyes. Oh, and a membrane pad too! Wtf why is it there so many things I want to spend money on!!!!!!!
