    Sailing on the CGC Barque Eagle (lots of pics) pirate talk welcome!

    Hey every one, just gon back from the most awsome trip ever. I sailed for 3 weeks on the CGC Barque Eagle, a three masted 295ft sailing ship. shes the only tall ship still sailed my the US military, I got underway from New london CT, had a port call in NYC, and baltimore.

          its open for tours on every port it stops at. otherwise, any crew can usualy invite someone for a ride along. next year it'll be going to panama and up the west coast.

                  i think they are, but i dont think they actualy sail. i think its just for show.

                      That is pretty dang impressive.

                        Correct, but he also said it's the only ship still SAILING in the US Military... BUT, even if they don't sail, the USS Constitution is still a commissioned vessel in the USN..

                              USCG is no longer part of DOT, we're now DHS. but we have always been a military branch regardless as per Title 14 of the United states code.
