That's cool. I was born in Adak (a tiny little island), and from what I remember, it was nice. The two weeks of darkness off and on is pretty cool, too. And if you're a star gazer, you'll love it.

When i was in the Navy we had a port call in Anchorage, three things stuck out in my mind the most were: 1 the people there were very friendly 2 the countryside was very pretty if you like lots of snow, and 3 being from Florida and being stationed in San Diego it was freaking cold. All in all it was a great place to visit , make sure you take the time to see glacier bay it was well work the visit.

Really? What year? I was born in '87 and we lived there until either '90 or '91.

Navy? I would assume. My dad retired as PO.
