If i wanted to use OSX, i'd keep it on there.

We hate macs. The only reason we're keeping it, is because its not worth much, and it'd be wateful to destroy it.

So, we're putting linux on it, slapping tux stickers over the mac emblems, and using it for whatever we see fit.

They are not really off the wall first off. As to the benifits:

          1) Free

          2) Inherently more stable--and infinitely so--than windows

          3) Inherently more secure--and infinitely so--than windows

          4) Fun to use

          5) Fun to work out bugs/patch things to mold the OS to suit your needs and hardware

          6) Did I mention that it and all almost all software that you would ever need is completely and utterly free of charge.

          7) Outstanding non-commercial (free support) via forums

          8) Huge international knowledge base

          9) No viruses, spyware, adware, activex issues, etc... Well sorta. You could make workable malware, but it is rare to come across nowadays.

          10) Linux is not Vista!!

There are many advantages. Also, just because you use/install Linux, you do not need to stop using Windows/MacOS. You can have both on a single machine. You do not even need to install most Linux OSs onto your hard drive, you can run off of a CD-Rom or even a flash/thumb/USB/whatever you prefer to call it drive (DSL is famous for this) if you want to. That is cool because you can have your entire system with you at all times and can use it from any machine. There is much much more...

                    THIS! THIS IS REDICULOUS!

We're trying to figure out why they're slow, why they randomly shut off when we're running open case for testing.

Ohwell, we now have a spare server running Ubuntu, with tux stickers over the apples.

What were the Ubuntu issues just out of curiosity?

It was the issue with the comptuer itself.

It was running half-speed, taking an hour to boot up because we didnt have the seemingly redundant plastic panels in, then it'd randomly shut-down, without apparent reason. We assumed it was because of ubuntu, when in reality it was the airflow panel sensor <_<

I'll upload pics of the case when i get home... I used those SUPER high-res tux images (just google image search 'tux', and you'll find one with crazy demensions.) Printed two out on a sheet of crack-n-peel, and cut them out with an exacto.
