WELL......I had suggested to the wife (who REALLY likes TV) that we buy ourselves an HD, large screen TV as an Xmas present. We went to BrandsMart (which I would NEVER recommend to anyone) to look around. I have never seen my wife go so impulse buy in her life. Normally she is the voice of reason and always makes me think before buying. We got to the showroom and she lost her head entirely. I suppose we both did, really.....I must tell you. TV's in a showroom like that look much smaller that they do when you get home with it.
We purchased a 50" Plasma that was on sale. Got a nice new entertainment center/TV stand for it. This thing is absolutely obscene. It is SO BIG in our living room. I feel like I am sitting in a movie theater. Almost have to turn your head to see things on the other side of the screen while sitting on the couch.
Broke it in watching Empire Strikes Back. I have a whole list of movies I have to watch again to enjoy the big screen experiance. Jurrasic Park certainly won't be the same....Heck peoples heads are life size. Can't wait to slip in some bow-chicka-bow either...lol
I am going today to buy some new long needed surround speakers to "put the cherry on top" of the theater sound.
