    help with itunes!!!

Ok, so i bought my wife the new nano for her bday. we downloaded the new itunes. i have some songs on my ipod that she wants, playlist "classic rock".

if i try to drag the playlist to her laptop, it wont let me.
if i try to drag all the songs in the playlist to her laptop, it wont let me.
if i try to drag one song from the playlist to her lappy, it wont let me.
if i try to drag any song or playlist from my ipod straight to hers, it still wont let me.

if i want to copy her itunes library to my ipod, it will. i dont want that (i dont want all her music). so i dont want to "sync" them, as that will erase my music and replace it with hers.

how can i add the music on my ipod to her laptop, so she can then put them on her ipod?

    thanks guys.

I'll give you some help with this one,.. but you do this AT YOUR OWN RISK.

iTunes will NOT allow you to copy the music playlist or the files from one iPod to another reguardless of your verisons and types of software. This is due to ensure that Apple does not get sued for allowing users of their products to "share" or "pirate" music.

What you need to do is go to "Downloads.com" and look for some software that allows you to turn your iPod files that are encryped to a form that your computer can read and not just iTunes.

There IS a program that is a "plug-in" to iTunes out there. It is "accepted" by the iTunes software as a "compatable" method of working with the file/playlist swap from one iPod to another.

Im not listing it here,.... you have to dig for it,... and it would be in your best interest NOT to tell people where you found it either. Nuff said on that!

The one thing that you can do,.. if you have the know-how as well as the hardware to do it.
You can take 2 hard drives in one computer, load operating systems onto each drive (creating a multi-boot), install 1 copy of iTunes onto each drive.
Boot to one drive and sync up an iPod, make the list you want, save it.
Reboot to the other drive, sync up the other iPod to the other iTunes, look for the playlist saved on the other hard drive in the other copy of iTunes,... then paste the play list in.

The ONLY way that will work is if the file allocation table for ALL the desired media on the iPod you want to take the music/paylist from originated from this computer. Meaning that if there was a song on your wifes iPod that did not come from your computer originally, or is not on your computer when you send the play list,... it will not find the file.

I have 3 computers, one is a file server for just data back-up. I used the hard drive method before the newer software came out to copy between iPods. If you can find the right software,.... its as easy as copy & pasting.
