The browser is the main reason I want to buy a touch. Looks incredibly useful.

I'm still trying to find a free converter that converts files from .avi format to mpg or any other zune-compatible formats. Any ideas?

Use the settings for an Ipod classic.

When you sync the zune, it'll convert the file again anyway.
