    computer problem!

in the last month or 2 my computer video settings have been screwy. Basically, when I load a game, my monitor goes blank, then I get a message generated by the monitor saying 'mode not supported'. And these aren't nessesarily new games, they are games I've had and previously ran just fine. I haven't changed anything before these problems developed. My drivers are up to date. However, when the game has an ability to run in a window, it works just fine. Any ideas?

If you're on an LCD, force the refresh rate of your monitor to 60 Hertz. Check the box that says Hide Modes that this monitor cannot display.

yeah, it's an lcd, I tried the 60hz setting, and it didn't work. I also tried hiding unsupported modes, and it displays everything through 200hz, even though it only works up to 75.
