AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
yeah all I can say is atleast it was a SEC team......
now the bcs needs to go away... it hasn't put the best 2 teams for the national in a while hell maybe on really pulled it off once....
we need a tournament that is a one lose and ur out type with like top 18 or so teams.. then after all is said and done the best 2 teams will be playing end the end.... I've never been a BCS FAN... EVER........
Take the 6 major BCS conference champions, plus two at large teams, based on their record after multiplying their wins by SOS and dividing their losses by SOS, then randomize the seedings. 4/2/1->winner

The SEC fans would complain they don't have 6 teams in it.
Take the top 16 and play it off. That sounds like a lot but its only 4 rounds for the winners.
Require in season each Big 10 team to play at least one SEC team and one PAC-10 team (and so forth and so on).
There hasn't been a compelling National Championship game since the Vince Young / Matt Leinert / Reggie Bush bowl.

How bout them tigers! There definitely needs to be a play off system or pin up 1vs2, 3vs4, 5vs6 and so on so there are less blow outs. The most exciting games were clemson/auburn (15vs22) and FSU/Kentucky because of the lack of FSU players. Kinda sad. With that said, I was out in New Orleans from Sunday to yesterday and it was absolutely insane. I didn't get tickets (I didn't have 1200$) and it was still one of the greatest experiences of my life

That is because our top 6 are better than the teams ranked above them /cough [Big 10 overrated]

I would be happy with the plus 1 style. That would insure that the SEC gets a chance (usually they just grab an overranked big 10 team, and choose a pac10 team to play against them.)

That is because they keep putting overranked Ohio in it.
The Big 10 is highly overranked and has been slow (at least its powerhouses) to adapt to the system that allows the spread offense to be so effective. Though, the Patriots have pretty much shown that the holding rule in college (or lack there-of it seems) is not the only thing that makes a spread like offense possible (yeh, I know its not a true spread).
The hopes are that with Rodriguez coming to MI the spread will come with him, and force OSU and Wisconsin to adopt it or something to compete with it. We can see what even a questionable spread offense can do to "traditional" big ten football (Illinois vs OSU and the near upset in Illinois vs Michigan or Appalachian State vs Michigan).
I don't necessarily agree that the #1 SEC team is the #1 team in the country always. I do think the SEC has far more depth than the Big 10 or PAC-10 and its #5 school is an overmatch for the #5 school out of the other major conferences. I would have liked to see if LSU this year could have handled USC, or the Gators last year.
Personally I would like to see the NCAA take hold of some scheduling. Take the #1 SEC team from the previous year and have them play in the regular season against the #1 Big Ten school and #1 Pac-10 school. Same with #2, #3, etc. OSU pretty much showed that you cannot trust the schools themselves to make a challenging out of conference schedule.
And... I would like to see one of these vaunted spread offenses travel up to say Wisconsin and play in horrible conditions.
Gone are the days in college football of "three yards and a cloud of dust". You better plan on putting up 30 against the good schools to have a chance.
