Dangit, now I have to learn the accordion...

It's an OLD Silvertone accordion. I know nothing about it other than the fact that it's awesome, and sounds really cool.

    The facts I know:
    - It's been in my family for more than 1/2 a century. It belonged to my great grandmother, then she gave it to my mom, who gave it to me.
    - Silvertone is Sears' instrument brand, from the mid 1930's to the early 70's, so it's old either way. Despite being a retail store brand, what I found over Google is promising, value-wise. But I've found only a few hits, and none of them were my model.
    - It has "447/317 Made in Italy" stamped on the back. I assume this is the model number, as my Google search turned up other models with the XXX/YYY number format listed as the model number. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything about 447/317.
    - It is in amazing condition. barely a scratch on it. Sounds great too. No dead notes or leaks in the, well, whatever the extendy part in the middle is called. I'll research a little more as I learn to play it.

ANY information you guys can find on this would be TREMENDOUSLY appreciated.

And once again, my odd musical repertoire grows! I've got a Fender Telecaster, a Deering banjo, a harmonica and now this! Too bad I suck at them all so far!

Sweet, not to many people can say they can play it. I think folks who can do things outside the norm rock. Sounds funny but I wish I knew how to tap dance and play the piano. Go for it.
Due to the objections of a certain Canadian, this space is now for rent.

I know a kid that plays the accordion. He's moved away and I haven't talked to him in a while. It's a cool instrument though.

And +1 on the banjo. I own a deering banjo. You don't really have to know how to play. If it's in tune, then anything you do on it sounds cool.
