That's not going to do anything, all it will do is make you look like you are trying to get of a ticket through a loophole that isn't even relevant to the "crime". (Which could bite you in the butt depending on the judge who may have otherwise let you off easy depending on the ticket.)Comment

Agreed, its not worth it for just a speeding ticket. Cop didnt even get my model of car right. I had a f-150 with a camper shell, and he wrote it as a bronco. Thing is now... I'm on a first name basis with him, and we would talk often.
But after I got a new truck... its been fine.Comment

I had something similar to this happen to me. I had plates on my car that werent mine, and a cop gave my car a parking ticket. He also called it a Buick. So wrong plates, plus calling my car a Buick instead of a Cadillac got me out of the ticket. Why? Because I didnt bother to pay it. Havent heard a thing about it since.Kosmo For President '08, '12, '16... However long it takes

$190 isnt bad...
Here everything starts at ~$250.
I had a friend get a $650 ticket for driving thru a gore point on a freeway off ramp.
Also here, the only way to get something off your record is to go to the defensive driving school... which actually cost less than my ticket if I had paid it.Comment

Heres one for you. I got a DUI that I'm facing, first the cop was profiling the bar that I left. He pulled me over for having a registration light being out, not for swerving nor striking a object. The State of WI requires a car or truck operating in the hours of darkness that it have headlights, taillights, turn signals, and brake lights. I doesn't say anything about registration lights. But further down in a registration lights law states that if a car or truck is equiped with registration lights they must be ilumated with a white light or bulb. Nowhere in the law says that they are required to work.
2nd. The field soberity test. The State of WI has three test that have scientific proof of either pass or fail. The three are That crazy eye test with the pen, which if you are like me with a stigmatism your going to fail, the turn and walk, and the one legged balance. Well one of my legs knees have been giving me problems (have medical documents)so the officer told me I didn't have to do them. But he gave me the alphabet, the counting down, and a different balance test but talking to a lawyer those tests will get thrown out because they are designed to fail. So am I boned or is it a case of bad judgment.
3rd. I had 4 beers in 6 hours my BAC was .103. I looked at the thing with
, unfortantly I don't have physical proof such as a paper receipt because credit cards get me in trouble and I have the bills to prove it, but I have witnesses and a bartender in a managers position as well. It was taken 12/28 and was received at the lab on 01/03 tested on 01/04. Could this be the result of mishandling/faulty equipment?
4th I was pulled over at 1:05am, the blood wasn't drawn till 2:20am. Know of cases that have been thrown out or severely reduced because the time it takes from getting pulled over till the blood draw. During this time I was not given a chance or a option for a breathlizer.
Its my first offense, I was told by many lawyers to just bite the bullet and take it (I did find a lawyer to take the case). My problem is I'm a driver for a small Landscape Company so I'm going to end up losing my job if I get my license suspended or it shows up on my driving record. The state of WI takes your drivers license for 6 to 9 months for a first offense (the problem with that is I got about 9 months to make my income for the year), and I find it unjust to limit the hours a person is able to work to 60hrs a week with a occupational license (occasionally I pull 80hr weeks in the spring, summer, fall). Its not just going to hurt my income anyways, the owner of the company is going to end up losing profit because higher insurance, and even with a occupational license I can't operate any form of equipment with wheels. Its unfair in my eyes, I think I'm going to try and make a big stink out of it anyways. This space for rent.Comment

I ran a stop sign.
$70 and 3 points.
suck it up, you knowingly did something against the law, just because someone else messed up after you messed up doesn't mean you should pay.
(edit)
also, don't complain the cop was being a dick, its his job to generate revenue.

Sounds like the officer had good PC (probable cause) for the stop. A vehicle code violation, even if its faulty equipment, allows me to stop you and "continue" my DUI investigation. Some officers sit on bars, but they must find a reason to stop you other than the fact that you are leaving a bar- this one did. I've gotten quite a few drunks from faulty license plate lights.
2nd. FST's - That "crazy eye test" is actually THE most accurate & my favorite. Your stigmatism has absolutely no effect. We are looking at what is called Nystagmus- the natural bouncing of the eye as it tracks an object. Alcohol magnifies nystagmus and makes it much more noticeable. The more alcohol on board, the more your eyes bounce. There are certain medical issues that will invalidate this, but you dont have any of them, or you would know it already. The remainder of the FST's are simply tools for observing the affectation of your motor skills and your ability to function attempting multiple tasks- similar to the demands of operating a motor vehicle. A lawyer telling you these tests are designed to make you fail is a slimeball out for your money. These tests have been scientifically validated and are standardized for use nationwide. They have been attacked from every angle by many high priced lawyers, but remain in good standing with the courts- because they are extremely effective when given properly.
3rd. your BAC was .103. as tested a day or two later. Sounds like the typical lab testing cycle. Its on your lawyer to prove the lab messed up your sample. Good luck with that. Sounds to me like you had too much to drink.
4th. Pulled over at 1:05 & blood drawn at 2:20. Sounds like a normal time frame. I'm going on California law here but everything seems by the book and proper.
I hook guys all the time that dont think they're drunk, and thats the problem. how does someone associate a number like .08 with the buzz they are currently feeling? Unfortunately its not an excuse. The reality is, motor-function and the abilty to multitask are impaired at .04% BAC. You were way past that. Glad you didnt hurt anybody while you were driving drunk, 'cause that woulda been a Felony and serious Jail time dude.

Since when did our courts become the forum for the search for the Almighty Loophole?!?
