So I picked up a new TV, its a 40in 1080p DLP for free from a friend. He broke the mirror inside which I've replaced already, but the lens was scratched when the original mirror was broke. Anyways the lens is some kind plastic, and I was wondering if it can be polished instead of just buying a new one.

You can try but its near impossible to take a scratch out of an optical device. You're better off buying a replacement -

cant be polished, the surface is etched sorta on purpose to only let certain light though at a certain angle.Comment
