Any PC master over here? Multiple screen issue...

I installed a 22" screen on my laptop, so I now use my mouse to wander from one screen to the other.

The main screen is the laptop screen, wich I cannot change in the settings; but I mainly use the 22" screen and my laptop is on the corner of my desk.

Here's my situation: I have a software that allows me to watch the TV on my computer. I can drag the software's window from screen to screen when it's small. But whenever I maximise the window to have the video full screen on my 22", the video goes back on my laptop screen . The software is TV Plus 3.0 .

Something similar happens with InterVideo WinDVD: I can have the window full screen on my 22" screen, but it will be all black, I'll only have the sound.

So far only Windows Media Player allows me to watch a movie full screen on my 22".

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, guys.

My thoughts would be not enough video support, ie not enough video memory to pull it off at that size.....that is just a shot in the dark for the most part. I had a similar problem when hooking up my lappy to the big screen tv. It just didn't dig it.

If you have all the software ready to go then you should be fine.

Right Click on the desktop of the PC and go to GRAPHIC SETTINGs or something like that.

You should be able to change the laptop screen to #2 and the 22" to #1 by dragging it over to the #1 spot. Also you need to change the setting that says OUTPUT TO: Monitor THEN NoteBook so that it takes into account the 22" first.

That should do it, though I can't swear that it will.

hmmmmm... .didn't make it all the way to the bottom where you say WMP works fine. So that's tellin me that maybe the software that you are running the TV with don't support 22" monitors. Not sure on this one man... sounds like SW though since at least one proggy works fine that way.

Maybe it's a memory issue... but since WMP works fine, that would be odd. Plus, 64mb video card and 1,5 GB ram should be enough memory for a video .

I tried dragging the monitor on the settings window because I have my laptop sitting to my right. But it only dragged the #1 screen (ie. laptop screen) to the right. So instead of having [1] [2], I have [2] [1] ([1]:laptop, [2]:22").
I tried right clicking on the laptop screen in the settings but I cannot change the "main screen" option. It is marked in a grayish way that means you cannot change it.

My bet is on the software side too . I'm thinking about trading my PS3 for a PC tower anyway since all my friends are on PC and I'm left alone playing COD4. I'll tell you if I come up with something.

          Thanks for the advices!

This is hard to answer without knowing the specifics of the hardware in the laptop. Typically, if you're stuck with Intel graphics, you're out of luck. If you have ATI or Nvidia graphics you should be able to accomplish this IF you make the external display your primary monitor.

Yeah, with an Intel integrated graphics, you are gonna have a hard time doing pretty much anything graphically demanding.

I am running an Nvidia 8600 in my laptop, and I can run full mode videos on both monitors at the same time if I wanted to...even though that would be pointless.

On my laptop i have a ati radeon vid card, and I cannot change the default primary from the default windows display I have to go into ati's advanced settings. Then I can set my 2nd monitor as the primary.

                Hope this helps.

I have an ati radeon X600. Are those ati's advanved settings accessed by "right click on the desktop"/ "Properties"/"Parameters"?
Because I have an advanced button in that window but did not find any option to set my 22" as my primary monitor.

Also, have you encoutered any problem when you disconnect the laptop?

Desktop->Right click -> Properties -> Settings tab -> advanced button

Set your laptop as the secondary display here:

                    I'm not sure about disconnecting..

You have way more options than I did... so I installed a new driver. Everything's fine now.
                      Thanks for all the help!
