I've been lookin on Craigslist for a while. I know a thing or two about cars but have never messed around with japanese cars. I'm lookin for a wrx or rsx or a cool car which I can buy that won't cost over $9000. Any suggestions. How many miles do these cars get on their vtec engines? thanks yall

vtec is just a honda thing on certain engines. the honda 4 cylinders will run forever if maintained even halfway decently, they aren't too particular.
a WRX might not be the best idea with limited funds, seems like people always spend a lot more than they think on them -
all the choices you listed make for a solid car. I've heard great things about both the honda's and wrx's. I'd pick a subaru over a honda though. AWD plus its not a honda

Honda or Toyota
Hondas & Toyotas last forever. People will brag about how their ford or chevy has 200k & is still going, but they are the exception & not the rule. My wife ran our 95 Accord out of oil one time & didnt know it. I got in to drive it the next day, & saw the temp gage pegged when I started it. Checked the dip stick, was "varnished" with baked on oil. turns out the cheese dicks at the local jiffy lube left the drain plug loose a few days prior. Added Oil, no probs since.
It says something when the American automakers are trying to match the quality & feel of the Japanese Autos.Aerobatics...The ULTIMATE Extreme Sport!!!Comment

blah blah blah
asian stuff isn't better than american stuff, maybe in the 80's this is true. But not anymore.
Its common now for any car to hit at least 200k
