AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
they are making a GI Joe movie. Surely you remember GI Joe. Anyway, its early in production but this is one of teh few photos theyve released. Its Snake eyes the awesome-est good guy ninja ever.
G.I. Joe was a real US soldier and the toys and comics and such was done to honor him. This is just a slap in the face. There are rumors that they will change it but I doubt it. I for one won't put my money into such an anti-American thing.
dont worry, you will be disappointed.....just like every other movie adaptation has been disappointing, who am I kidding, every movie for the past few years has been disappointing.
I think there is potential here, but the one thing that worries me is Cobra Commander. He's being played by the guy who was the kid in 3rd Rock from the Sun! (shiver up the spine)
Well, the latest says the Joe group will be based out of "The Pit", their HQ like in the cartoon series. I don't know about the acronym, but it wouldn't bother me. See, people have to realize, when you start doing things live action you have to make some changes. Think X-Men would have looked realistic, or even remotely believable, with Wolverine wearing yellow and blue and those goofy pointy things as a facemask? Seriously? The fact is, comic book stuff only translates so well to real life and when things have to be changed they are for the greater good. Sure, some of the details get changed or left out, but what do you want? Faithful reproductions are a myth. Casual or non-fans would be lost, and fanboys will never be happy unless every single last one of their requests is in their, leading to a movie four hours long that no one but them understands the flow of. It's just the way it is.
I choose to take it another way and say I am indeed happy they are making this and am really jazzed about it. My two favorite things as a kid were G.I.Joe and Transformers (in that order) and I felt the TRansformers movie was well done. It changed some things, but overall, it was a good adaptation. This Joe movie will more than likely be the same. The only cast member that I'm curious about is Sienna Miller as the Baroness. But, that stems from the fact that one, I have really no idea who she is and two, she's a blonde in real life so it tought for me to picture her as a brunette. Anyway, I want a ticket to this as soon as it comes out. Too bad Sgt. Slaughter is too old for a cameo!! :P
