Interesting - what are you doing for the gas system?

I wish someone could come up with a system that used this design w/o the need for a spring in the stock.

Theres quite a few uppers that use a piston with a spring around it instead of that stupid gas impingement crap, theyre just not cheap. I know a 416 uses a piston, I dont know if the spring is on the piston or in the stock though.

The 416 uses a piston in the gas block location up front rather than channeling gas through a tube to impinge on the bolt. The system that cushions and cycles the bolt is separate. At least that is my understanding.


I'd love to see some solutions to the recoil buffer in the stock, that would open up a lot of options for grip placement and stock design that we have to deal with here in California. Can you point me to one?

Off the top of my very sleepy head, I know the Kel-tec ar type guns have no recoil buffer tube, but they arent ar compatible uppers. The XCR from robarms might be, Im not sure though.
