    From far more vast experience than owning a couple I will tell you the mid/upper 90s Explorers are a far better vehicle than the mid 90s Blazers based on ride quality and repair issues.

      not sure about ride quality because I dont drive an explorer regularly (just around the shop), but I know that the AC compressor in the IIRC 95+ explorers are located right above electrical connectors/components. The later ones are worse than the older ones, but none the less this design drives me crazy. You should never design something to drip water on electrical wires regardless of application. I know enough about explorers (from working on them) to know that I personally will never own one.
